Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z gets a new gameplay trailer and a concrete release date
Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja have finally put down a firm release date for their cell-shaded hack ‘n’ slash title; Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will hit the PC and current-gen consoles on 4 March 2014 in North America, and the trailer below has been issued to mark the same. The video showcases a fair bit of gameplay, illustrating the various skills and tools at the disposal of the titular cyborg ninja protagonist out for vengeance. In addition to his ninja blade, Yaiba also has several mecha weapons incorporated into his cyborg arm, utilising both with great efficiency to despatch the undead.
The main character’s in-game tour guide Miss Monday expands on the various enhancements to the protagonist, including improved agility, speed and reflexes. There’s plenty of zombies, slicing and dicing, and comic book-style gore to be had in the video above, so enjoy; if that doesn’t sate your bloodlust, you can always view some previously released videos right here. The third-person action game releases on 28 February 2014 in Europe.
