Vin Diesel hunts bounty hunters, monsters in the dark in debut trailer for Riddick
And here it is finally, the long-awaited debut trailer (thanks to Machinima) for Universal Pictures’ science fiction action movie Riddick, which stars Vin Diesel as the eponymous interplanetary badass doing what he does best – kicking bad guys’ asses and hunting alien creatures in the dark. The movie – which takes place on a desert planet – marks the third live-action film featuring Riddick, following the sci-fi cult hit Pitch Black and its sequel The Chronicles of Riddick released in 2004.
Directed by David Twohy (who also helmed the previous two flicks in the franchise), the film is set for release on 6 September in the US, and it also stars Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica anyone) and Dave Bautista. The trailer has me all eager for the film’s launch; while Pitch Black was epic its sequel was a bit lacking, so it’s good to see Twohy returning to the roots with this one.
