Viking Squad marches towards PS4 in 2015; trailer, screenshots here

Vancouver-based Slick Entertainment have revealed a new sidescrolling co-op beat ‘em up called Viking Squad for the PC, PS4 and Mac, and have issued the first batch of images as well as a trailer of the same.

With an estimated release window of 2015 for the PS4, the brawler puts players in the shoes of the leader of a Viking party out to raid and garner loot for their avaricious Jarl, which obviously necessitates despatching different enemies who may stand in your way, though gradually one realises that all may not be as it seems with the Jarl. One can choose from and level-up four Vikings, each of whom have a special weapon and distinctive move set. You can also procure and equip different equipment – that can improve combat acumen – as you battle opponents and journey for treasure.

Raids involve setting out across the sea and fighting and looting until supplies are exhausted, which is when one returns, replenishes provisions and takes off again, though to a different location for every playthrough based upon the squad’s accomplishments in the procedurally generated world map.
