0Video interview with The Realm concept artist Charlie Bowater
The Realm is a visually stunning point & click adventure game by Atomhawk Design+Lantern Interactive set in a distant future where nature has reclaimed most of the planet, while former massive bustling cities are now largely abandoned, and the remnants of humanity live in small rustic communes devoid of science and technology, but more open to magic and mysticism.
The game revolves around a young strong-wiled girl called Sarina who sets out from her village to locate a cure for her ailing mother, befriending a gentle but powerful giant stone golem named Toru along her journey. Players will control both these characters, each with their own unique characteristics, to solve puzzles and continue on their quest.
In the following video The Realm concept artist Charlie Bowater talks about Sarina and Toru; how the process behind the creation of the former resulted in the character going through two stages, with the intended aim being that she being a simple non-mystical girl.
The Realm is currently scheduled for release on the PC and tablets in early 2014. Check out the Kickstarter page, which has a goal of £195,000, if you want to do your part.
