Van Helsing II gameplay video reveals new ally – The Chimera
NeocoreGames have issued a new video of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II, revealing an all-new ally of the protagonist called the Chimera, a unique and powerful monster which hails from the mysterious realm called Ink. While Lady Katarina always accompanies the protagonist, the Chimera can be summoned during battles to aid Helsing; more interesting is the fact that it can be sent to gather gold, enchanted items and special potions and essences from the Ink.
Furthermore, the creature will grow stronger and evolve, acquiring more skills and enhancing its scavenging ability at the Lair; bear in mind though, that the Chimera needs to be fed essences to sate its “hunger”, which grows when it is summoned, dies in battle or goes on scavenging hunts. While its skillset has not been detailed yet, we do now that it will involve both passive and active abilities, such as more strength and damage as well as improved scavenging.
The Chimera can be sent to three different maps for hunting for upto 10 minutes, each location with differing special items, varied amounts of XP and its own danger level. For example, the Lands of Nightmare is one to send the beast if you want it to gain in experience. Enjoy the clip above, which shows the Chimera in action. The action-RPG is all set to arrive on the PC this Spring.
