Total War: Warhammer – Savage Orcs and Greenskins Campaign videos

Two new videos of Total War: Warhammer focus on the aggressive Orcs.

The first one introduces the Savage Orcs, who wear little except some blue warpaint and a loincloth, but are among the most brutal and aggressive of the Orcs. Avoiding armour and relying on primitive weapons made of bone and such, these mean dudes make up the elite cavalry of the Greenskins when mounted on boars.

The second clip contains more than 15 minutes of gameplay from the campaign, specifically those of the Orcs. The footage is from the Alpha version and hence should be considered work-in-progress and not final when it comes to quality, and it starts off by showing off the overview map (which will be expanded with planned add-ons), with a scripted fly-by of the campaign map. The Orcs hail from the Western Badlands to the south, bordering the territory of the Dwarf forces, which means that a clash between the two is inevitable.

Orc hordes led by Muzg the Astute attack the dwarven city of Karak Kadrim; we learn that each hero can be equipped with upto six magical items, and we get a look at the various forces and siege equipment at the command of the assailant. Banners are used to buff up forces, and then the auto-resolve button quickly and effectively provides a resolution to the battle with a decisive victory in the Orcs’ favour. Captured settlements can be occupied, looted, sacked or razed. Some city-building elements are shown as defences are raised in Karak Drazh, and research options in the Goblin Workshop.

The skill tree of Azhag the Slaughterer displays the abilities he has at his disposal, with battle, campaign and character skills, while we learn that characters now have around 30 skill levels, while legendary lords can unlock quest chains that can net them mounts and legendary gear.
