0Tom Clancy’s The Division CGI trailer, Concept Art, Screenshots depict life in devastated New York
The gameplay demo shown at E3 for Tom Clancy’s The Division was packed with content we just wished that the developers would expand on, making the following CG trailer, artwork and screenshots all the more welcome. The images depict New York City in the aftermath of a devastating pandemic, with various factions fighting each other for control of the city’s key points; there’s also the ECHO tool, which gathers data via surveillance cameras, cellphone footage and audio pick-ups and subsequent renders a three-dimensional image of past events, allowing you to gather clues and earn XP (yay!).
Meanwhile the cinematic trailer – which is the extended version of the recent teaser – portrays a sombre Christmas season in the city, with hostile factions battling each other and ushering a new world where might is right. The clip starts off by showing the interior of an apartment, and how it gradually transforms to a barricaded messy one, with food, water and essential supplies become the focus for survival across the city, resulting in people resorting to desperate and dark deeds. A squad of Division agents save a civilian from a gang of looters, only to see the Hazmat Suit and Flamethrower wielding faction of the Cleaners arriving on the scene, with all signs pointing to a firefight up ahead.
