The Wolverine goes to Japan in this First Trailer

Here’s a special treat for you superhero movie aficionados today; the first trailer for the James Mangold-directed action-adventure movie The Wolverine is out, and you can watch it below. Starring Hugh Jackman as the eponymous hero, the film follows the events of the X-Men: The Last Stand (the third instalment in the X-Men movie series), and sees Wolverine in modern day Japan, wherein he finds himself vulnerable for the first time and questions his immortality.

Set for release on 26 July in the US, the movie also stars Svetlana Khodchenkova as the sexy but deadly Viper and Will Yun Lee as the Silver Samurai. Mangold has helmed solid titles such as the 2003-thriller Identity, the excellent cowboy flick 3:10 to Yuma, as well as entertaining films such as Knight and Day,  so we remain cautiously optimistic for this movie. We already know Hugh Jackman fits into the role perfectly, so lets hope the writers and director don’t screw this one up!
