The images show off the 1940’s and 1960’s version of the beast; for those who can’t read German, the mock poster says something along the lines of “Man’s best friend just got better”. However, don’t expect the Kampfhund to behave like the friendly and useful canine companion of Fable II; my guess is that it would rather chew B.J. Blazkowicz’s face off than lick it.

In the game Nazis have taken control over the world where BJ Blazkowicz and his team of resistance fighters are tasked go against Colonel Deathshead-led Reich forces.

Bethesda will be making only 5000 units of The Panzerhund Edition which will be made available through Bethesda’s online store for $100. For that you will get an 8 inch Panzerhund statue, footlocker box which contains a classified folder with maps, letters and blue print, a steelbook holding a set of 14 postcards, three embroidered patches and a box containing custom made dog tags.

The Collector Edition of the game will not  include a copy of the game. According to Bethesda this will help them to ship these boxes worldwide and you’re not stuck waiting for your game to come along with an oversized, expensively shipped box.”

You might especially remember the latter from the gameplay sequence set on a train wherein she forces protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz to play a game with potentially deadly results, while Wilhelm Strasse should be familiar to fans of the series, given his appearances in Return to Castle Wolfenstein released back in 2001 as well as its sequel Wolfenstein in 2009. Bethesda and MachineGames’ action title releases worldwide on 20 May for the PC and consoles.

The next clip is a gameplay sequence that sees protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz on a train meting Frau Engel for the first time, as she appears guarded by a giant robot, and attempting to stay cool and not blow his cover. However, she intercepts him and forces him to play a card game, asking you to choose from two photos based on what you feel, with potentially deadly results; watch the video to find out what happens. Wolfenstein: The New Order hits North America on 20 May and Europe on 23 May for the PC, as well as current and next-gen consoles, with pre-orders garnering you access to the Beta for the next Doom title.
