After having received devkits, the studio now intends to commence development on those versions of the game as soon as possible. This means that there is a possibility that Beta access for the game may be extended from PC to the console iterations, though its still too early to confirm. When you attack an enemy you have various options to choose from whether to slice, slash, stab or use special moves like kick or punch an opponent to make distance or pommel strike, deflect incoming blows– successful parrying will give you a chance to perform counter attack. There are six zones on the enemy body that you can hit, making 18 varied basic attacks. Then there’s a dedicated defense button, if you hold it down your character will block every attack from various angles. You can also trick the enemy from instance pretending to attack from one side but actually attack from the other. Push enemy into an uneven terrain and overpower them. If melee is not your cup-of-tea then you can use bow and arrow to take down an opponent from distance.

The stamina plays a vital role and you will face full plate combatant very often, so tiring an opponent is a key to win the fight.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is already funded with nine days to go, the game is coming to PC, and hopefully PS4 and Xbox One

The game also allows for players to layer clothing, which means that the character can don plate armour over chainmail over ordinary garments, and then put on other expensive clothing to symbolise his status. Additionally, different armour types function well against different weapons; chainmail is useful against swords but perhaps not so much when facing archers. A work-in-progress build also shows how the inventory currently looks like, with various sorts of wearable armour and equipable swords (of which there are 16).  The next update will reveal more on horse-riding and horseback combat; exciting stuff indeed!

The team at Warhorse studio consist of people who have previously worked together on titles like ArmA, Forza Horizon, Crysis 3, Flashpoint, and the first 2 Mafia games. The developer describes Kingdom Come: Deliverance as an open-world single-player realistic RPG set in medieval times, featuring an epic non-linear story, where your choices will have consequences, allowing you to mold the non-linear story according to your liking, immersive and challenging first-person melee-based combat. Players can choose from three playstyles, wander the dynamic open-world as a brave knight, skulking in the shadows like a rogue, or persuade people by using charm to join your cause. The game will be split into three episodes and each chapter will feature 30+ hours of gameplay.

Warhorse is currently seeking £300,000 funds. Check out their kickstarter campaign page to know more about Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
