This fresh video from Deep Silver and 4A Games showcases the setting and visual fidelity in Metro Redux, the FPS duology that stands as two of the most immersive, atmospheric and visually impressive first-person shooters over the past five years.

The clip first sets out the premise, which basically revolves around the adventures of Artyom in mostly underground post-apocalyptic Moscow, which now contains human survivors as well as dangerous mutants. We see how the game engine allows for superior graphical fidelity on the Xbox One and PS4, compared to the visuals in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. There’s the 60 FPS frame rate gamers have been yearning for, as well as higher resolutions (4K PC support!).

The use of the latest 4A engine to rebuild Metro 2033 means that one can expect various gameplay enhancements, including improved AI, better weapon handling, gun customisation and stealth system (stealth kills/non-lethal takedowns). There are also new hidden areas to explore and two new modes – Spartan (challenging and rewarding) and Survival (aggressive enemies, realistic weapon handling etc) to enjoy the game in. Of course, Ranger mode is also making a return for those who prefer the hardcore challenge without any intrusive HUD/UI.

WB Games and Techland have unleashed the Gamescom Trailer for Dying Light, showcasing the core features of their first-person open-world zombie survival action title, which arrives in February 2015 on the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4. The clip – made available by IGN – gives us a glimpse of the various melee and ranged weapons one can get their hands, assorted undead enemies that you will have to evade/defeat, as well as the vast open city which players will negotiate in search of supplies by day and shelter at night.

What makes Dying Light stand out from other similar tile in the genre is not only the free-running movement system which makes traversing the world fun (hello ziplines and grappling hooks), but also the fact that night-time brings out the more deadly nocturnal zombies which can make life miserable for the player. The game was initially set to arrive in 2014, but was delayed into next year to ensure that it was uncompromisingly representative of what the developers had set out to achieve.

Today we have tons of new details and a fresh batch of screenshots and concept art from Black Cloud Studio and Richard Nixon’s sci-fi post-apocalyptic game After Reset, showcasing various species that inhabit the nuclear struck world of After Reset. You will encounter different types of life forms throughout the game such as Humans – the most “diverse and contradictory” kinds, who have tendency to develop various emotions such as “love, compassion, faithfulness and self-sacrifice; as well as passion, violence, betrayal and madness.”More than 99% of the human civilisation was exterminated during a thermonuclear apocalypse which has irradiated most of the earth.

Next up are the animals – majority of these were eradicated during the event of the Armageddon and after the apocalypse, the radiation levels have become less which resulted in formation of “Yellow Zones” and eventually flora and fauna started to take over the nuclear struck regions. Other species include all sort of plants and insects including wasps, grasshoppers, flies, cockroaches, beetles, isopods, scorpions, spiders, mites, crabs, lobster etc. that are mostly spotted near the Red Zones.

Then there are Synthetics– machine/robots who are operated by artificial intelligence, manufactured by Science Corps of the United Government. After the events of the disaster, humans were the first to encounter Incorporeal – an alien species, which were formed due to the nuclear reaction that took place minutes after the reset and are considered to be very powerful; even weapons of cutting-edge technology were not enough to destroy it.

In addition, After Reset has closed its first 2 stretch goals which means that it will complete full Prologue production DRM-free and be available for PC, MAC and Linux by October 2014 and the second level of stretch goal allows for the addition of a cinematic intro. We have embedded some of the hi-res screenshots and concept art that can be viewed in the gallery below. And lastly, the team has confirmed that they are also working on the Fall of Gyes graphic novel along with the development of the game.

Kevin Bruner, co-founder of Telltale Games, confirmed at the San Diego Comic-Con that fans of the studio’s excellent episodic survival horror adventure series The Walking Dead can expect a third season. The announcement comes in the wake of the recently released second-to-last episode of Season Two earlier this month.

We still haven’t received any details on what the storyline will look like or what kind of release window is expected, but this is nonetheless great news for those wondering how they would get their The Walking Dead fix once Season Two wraps up.
