Square Enix and Psyonix’s third-person multiplayer combat game receives a fresh batch of artwork today, showing off some of the human characters and the varied weaponry at their disposal in their conflict against the powerful vampires. The weapons shown include the standard crossbow, the Alchemist launcher, Recurve and Compound bows used by the Scout class, the Arm-mounted Grapple Gun, throwing knives and the bolas typically employed by the Ironguard Hunters to temporarily trap Vampire and disable their attacks.

The female characters depicted below are the cultist alchemists, arcane chemists from the order of the Red Sisters of Anacrothe whose main weapon is a hand cannon that fire explosive globes that detonate on impact. Meanwhile, the males wielding bows are Scouts from the Watchers of Dark Eden who are deadly assassins skilled at utilising hit-and-run tactics with their precision bow. Nosgoth Concept Art illustrates Sentinels, Sommerdamm and more

Free-to-play multiplayer action title Nosgoth gets a bunch of fresh concept artwork today, and you can peruse them in detail right here to prepare yourself for the impending conflict between vampires and the humans who hunt them. The images show off various locations in the game, including the towering fort and streets of Sommerdamm, a source of contention between the two opposing sides and the sole human settlement standing between the vampires and the southern city of Meridian.

The artworks also render in detail the Sentinels, vampires descended from Clan Razielim with large wings that allow them to fly short distances, hence marking them deadly enemies of the humans as they can swiftly strike from above. Humans and Vampires skirmish in Nosgoth’s ‘War is Upon Us’ Closed Alpha Trailer

Square Enix and Psyonix’ free-to-play PVP combat-based Unreal Engine 3 title has entered closed alpha, and hence the following trailer has been issued to demonstrate the mucho action players can expect in Nosgoth. Titled’ War Is Upon Us’, the video shows the distinctive skills of each side, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

The humans rely more on ranged weaponry and traps while their fanged opponents make up for that in brute strength, extreme agility and power. Of course, there are unique classes in each faction, and experience acquired through combat allows one to customise skills, perks, appearances and equipment according to your liking. Square Enix and Psyonix have announced their free-to-play multiplayer game called Nosgoth, set in the dark atmospheric fantasy world of the ‘Legacy of Kain’ series, set to arrive on the PC via Steam. The competitive team-based action title allows players to choose to battle as humans armed with a varied arsenal of weapons and equipment or a lethal vampire equipped with superhuman strength focusing on melee attacks and supernatural skills. From what we know so far, it looks like the human side will focus more on ranged gameplay involving items such as bow and arrows, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, traps etc, while the vampires are more melee-oriented and can climb buildings, leap large distances and lay the smackdown on humans.

In the video above, the developers talk about the setting, the combat premise, and the brutal yet fast-paced gameplay. There appear to be varied classes and relevant abilities, such as the Winged Vampire who can fly around and drop down on unsuspecting opponents, or snatch them up and let go of them from a great height so that they plunge to their demise.
