Great news for me and all gamers looking for some co-op hack ‘n’ slash action on the PC; after its brief delay, Gauntlet has finally made its launch and therefore we have an all-new trailer to mark the occasion.

As previously espoused, one can choose from four different playable characters – Thor the Warrior, Thyra the Valkyrie, Questor the Elf and Merlin the Wizard – and step forth into battle against numerous enemies including deadly bosses, while also trying to survive lethal traps and the possibly dastardly/nefarious underhanded ways of you co-op (both local and online) buddies, all to attain glory, treasure and “succulent turkey”!

WBIE and Arrowhead Game Studios have pushed back the release of the PC-exclusive Gauntlet reboot to 23 September, but have decided to provide a fresh gameplay video walkthrough to ease the sorrow of the wait. The delay is to allow the developers time for bringing about a more polished multiplayer experience.

Meanwhile the clip below gives us a good look at what to expect from the top-down hack ‘n’ slash game, which features the four main characters – Thor the Warrior, Thyra the Valkyrie, Questor the Elf and Merlin the Wizard, each of whom have their own unique strengths and abilities. We see how the game has transformed from the 1980’s arcade classic into a more contemporary action-RPG, while retaining elements which made the original so much fun; so expect fast-paced combat and tons of enemies, hand-crafted as well as procedurally generated dungeons to explore, secrets to discover and various gear (armour, weapons and powerful relics) and perks to acquire.

Tecmo Koei has issued the announcement trailer for Samurai Warriors 4, Omega Force’s next instalment in the popular hack-and-slash series, which releases on 21 October across North America and on 24 October in Europe for the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita. The game, which boasts of a roster of 55 playable characters inspired by warriors from Japan’s Warring States period, allows for co-op play and cross saves across the aforementioned systems.

As a sequel, it also brings new moves such as Hyper Attacks, Rage Attacks, Mighty Strikes and more, detailed battlefields to wage war on, improved visuals with better lighting and shadows as well as many more enemies to dish out the pain to, while new battle modes which allow for features like quick switching between two characters, morale adjustments and officer developments adds to the immersion of the gameplay experience. Furthermore, the Story mode brings with it interesting tales filled with intriguing characters from across the land, whereas Chronicle Mode lets you focus on quest completion and customisation with an upgraded character creation system.

Techland has issued a singular image for Hellraid, the first-person co-op hack’n’slash action game which pits players against monstrous forces in settings ranging from monastery to catacombs and swamps. The image above is a piece of concept art depicting the Polish developers version of Hell in the game; Techland has said that they are striving for the location to be surreal, somewhat similar to this plane but clearly twisted by evil – players can expect never-extinguishing fires, piles of corpses, deadly traps, horrifying moans of the damned and of course, demons.

We also have a short new trailer for the game below. This video comes just ahead of E3, and gives us a glimpse into the morbid world of Hellraid, and its deceased/demonic inhabitants; one also gets to see a bit of the melee and magic combat in play, with the former looking very satisfying and visceral with axes and swords decapitating enemies. Check out our previous articles for more screenshots, info and the debut trailer.
