Techland has released a new 20-minute gameplay video of their upcoming first-person hack-n-slash game Hellraid. The game is being powered by Techland’s proprietary game engine, Chrome Engine 6, which is also being used to develop Dying Light. The video below shows off game’s combat system where we get to see how gameplay changes depending on the type of weapon that is being used. For instance short-swords have faster attack speed but less damage, blunt weapon like mace deals more damage to skeleton, for ranged combat one can use a magical staff which shoots ice shards and ice beam. You can even go with the axe and shield combo for more defensive approach. Furthermore two-handed weapons does large amount of damage (at the cost of speed). The game’s skill tree is similar to Grinding Gear Games’ Online action-RPG Path of Exiles, allowing you to develop the character according to your play style. This game reminds me of Might and Magic Dark Messiah which is a good thing and that is why I am looking forward to this game. Check out the video below

Hellraid is slated to launch next year and will be available via Steam early access this fall.

Deep Silver and Crytek have revealed that the former Xbox One-exclusive third-person hack ‘n’ slash game will arrive on the PC this Fall, and have released a handful of screenshots from Ryse: Son of Rome. This version of the game will include all DLC previously released for the Xbox One in addition to 4K resolution support for the extreme gamer! The CryEngine-powered title was released back in November 2013 to mixed reviews criticising its repetitive combat but praising the setting and visuals.

After perusing the screenshots above, which primarily depict protagonist Roman general Marius Titus in combat against assorted enemies, click here to view some videos from Ryse. The game sees the main character traverse various locales, ranging from lands abounding with barbarians to the heart of Rome itself, as he seeks glory for the Roman Empire and vengeance for the brutal murder of his family. Love for Hack ‘n’ slash games as well as TV series like Spartacus and Rome means that I for one look forward to getting my hands on the PC version of the game.

Techland has released a new gameplay video for its first-person hack-n-slash title Hellraid, focusing on the game’s combat and looting system. We get to see some of the combat mechanics – players can parry, counter or dodge enemy attacks. You can also use shield and sword combo for blocking resulting in a more defensive playstyle; if that is not your cup-of-tea then you can use heavy two-handed weapons to knock the hell out of undead enemies.

The trailer also demonstrates various tactics to be used against different enemy types. Unlike other RPGs, Hellraid will not feature any class system, as you can switch between multiple types of weapons on-the-fly. Hellraid will launch on the PC, Xbox One and PS4 in 2015.

The trailer is all CGI, but it does display the competitive and co-operative nature of the game, as the four main characters battle a wave of beasts but end up with an equivalent number of kills.

Co-op gameplay is where the fun is at, and one should discount the importance of having a good team, whose members’ strengths complement each other, as their combines force will be essential to defeat evil Emperor Zane’s minions during their journey across Ancaria. Furthermore, one can combine their powers with other champions to form powerful co-op combat moves.

Deep Silver’s co-op focused action-RPG set in Ancaria gets a new gameplay trailer, acquainting us with the mysterious and powerful Weapon Spirits that players can use to modify their weapons and enable different powers/bonuses/perks thereby dealing notable amounts of damage to the enemy in Sacred 3. Found across the realm, these assorted shards (which have their own personalities) once captured can aid you in various ways, with augmentations ranging from replenishing your health to hindering enemy movement or even heightening the chance of landing a critical hit on your opponent. Furthermore, these Weapon Spirits can be levelled up, making them even more essential and significant than before!

Sacred 3 launches on 1 August in Europe and 5 August in North America on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Techland officially re-announced that its upcoming hack ‘n’ slash title Hellraid is now heading to Xbox One, PS4 along-side with the PC. According to Techland, developers of the Dead Island series the game has “expanded and evolved”. But at the same time the game will remain faith full to what we have seen so far in terms of gameplay and features.

Techland has also added lot of new gameplay features and to show it all off, they have put together a new video. In trailer we get to see some of the tweak made to the game’s combat system. The melee combat has become more complex as there are variety of fighting styles such as counter-attacks, parrying, and dashing abilities. The game is now powered by the Chrome 6 engine, the same tech which they are using to develop Dying Light. The game has been pushed back yet again, this time to 2015 as the developers are in favor for PS4 and Xbox One, rather than previously announced for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Check out the trailer below
