0Styx: Master of Shadows 15-minute gameplay walkthrough
Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studio’s stealth-action game Styx: Master of Shadows receives a 15-minute long gameplay video, accompanied by commentary by the developers. The clip starts with the titular goblin evading and eavesdropping on human soldiers patrolling the vast Tower of Akenash, putting out torches with sand balls from afar to freely move around in the shadows.
One can stealthily steal or carry out silent kills on unsuspecting opponents and hide/destroy bodies, attract enemy attention by creating noise, or hide and bide one’s time. The developers also reveal that there are several trees, each with four skills to pick and choose from. The enormous layout of the Tower means that there are both interior areas and large open ones for the main character to traverse. Upon encountering a large Orc, Styx summons a clone which can be directly controlled to distract a nearby guards and eliminate several of them, uses a brief invisibility ability to sneak past some enemies, and pushes one off a ledge and hangs off it to send down another to his untimely demise.
Amber flasks, while difficult to come by, can be used to replenish Styx’s magic gauge, thereby allowing him to use the aforementioned abilities including Amber vision, which highlights nearby opponents and interactive objects. The game releases late Summer on the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
