Into The Stars – A new single player open-world space sim

Fugitive Games has announced that it is working on Into The Stars, an all-new single player open-world space sim for the PC and Mac, and posted the following trailer showcasing the game.

Developed by former DICE employees who have worked on games like Battlefield, Lost Planet and Shadows of the Damned, Into The Stars puts players in the captain’s chair as they must hire and command a crew, outfit their ship – the Ark 13, scavenge and mine resources which they must allocate judiciously, explore a vast solar system (consisting of 90 zones) and battle hostile aliens.

Furthermore, those in your crew may start out as rookes, but they soon acquire experience while tackling challenging tasks under your capable leadership and progress in six categories – Engineering, Piloting, Command, Medical, Toughness and Mining – though one must keep in mind that ensuring their survival is the captain’s responsibility. In addition to managing the crew and maintain the ship, one can also uncover mysterious relics and indulge in trading (which can break down) with aliens all while attempting to evade a pursuing hostile force responsible for the destruction of your home planet.

The game also boasts of music by Jack Wall, who is responsible for the excellent soundtrack of BioWare’s Mass Effect. Find out more about the game from its Kickstarter Page; the project has already amassed $55,000 of its $85,000 goal with 28 days still left!
