Rumour: Here are some alleged screenshots of Just Cause 3

Out of the blue, a pack of four images have hit the internet, and they are purported to be from Just Cause 3, the next installment in the open-world third-person action game that let players shoot up stuff and move around in different vehicles.

The notably watermarked screenshots appeared exclusively on Xbox-Underground, who claim that these are from an Xbox One debug build of the game, which previous rumours suggested was being developed by Avalanche Studios and was to be published by publisher Square Enix.

It is unclear if the playable character in the images is Rico Rodriguez, an employee of the Agency in the first two games in which one undertook missions to overthrow despotic regimes. However, one can make out that there was an in-game Black Market system allowing players to procure different items, including vehicles, with optional microtransactions. According to Eurogamer, this does not seem to be the case anymore.

Given the hours of fun and insane stunts one carried out with the grappling hook in Just Cause 2 – which released in 2010 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 – we remain eager to learn more about the project, and will update you all once we know more.
