PS4 shooter Velocity 2X gets an Alpha gameplay video, new screenshots
FuturLab have decided to grace us with a few new images as well as some footage from the Alpha build of Velocity 2X , their fast-paced top-down/sidescrolling shooter for the PS4 and PS Vita. The clip depicts protagonist Lt. Kai Tana collecting Rekenium Shards on foot and rescuing survivors in her spaceship while continuously blasting away at all that stand in her path.
The images below illustrate the art style of the game, said to be inspired by Flashback (the original Amiga version which used rotoscoped animation). Both the pics and the trailer underline various effects in the game such as dynamic environment lighting, Bloom, particle explosions and Light refraction; features such as screen shake & camera turbulence, Smooth 3D camera zoom, Vignetting and various environment effects are also making the cut.
