0The Order: 1886 postponed to early 2015; new video, screenshots to ease the pain
Sony and Ready at Dawn’s PS4-exclusive third-person shooter set in Victorian-era London has been pushed back from its initial launch window set this year, to an expected release in early 2015; to help alleviate the sorrow of the delay they have also pushed out a new video giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at The Order: 1886. The developers have said that the additional time will be utilised to ensure a final quality product for gamers.
Meanwhile, the video delves into the game setting, which takes place in an alternate history where strife is rife with the formation of the Rebellion as the advent of the Industrial Revolution brings with technological advancements that empower the common man and the downtrodden. Amidst all this is the Order, whose primary aim was to take down monsters that lurked the streets of London. Creative director Ru Weerasuriyaet and other members of the team talk about incorporating some fantastical elements and advancements into the game, while striving to ensure that it retained a sense of history and period-realism.
