0New video accompanies release date announcement for Skyshine’s Bedlam
Skyshine Games has posted a fresh video for Bedlam, while also announcing a concrete PC release date for the post-apocalyptic single-player roguelike turn-based strategy title.
Powered by ‘The Banner Saga’ engine, the game sees players assume the role of the Mechanic who leads a crew in a Dozer from the futuristic metropolis of Bysantine towards Aztec City, though this requires traversing Bedlam. Along the way, players must acquire and utilise resources effectively, as journeys result in their consumption, interact with different characters that they meet along the way, and fight enemies such as mutants, cyborgs, marauders and hostile automatons.
The game lets players acquire upgrades for the Dozer and strategically command their crew, which typically consists of different classes. What makes it all the more interesting is that there is no save game, with players getting one chance to see the journey through; failure means doom for the Dozer and its inhabitants and a fresh playthrough of randomly generated encounters, which provides for mucho replayability and varied gameplay experiences.
The video confirms the arrival of Bedlam on 17 September for the PC, while also revealing a bit more about the game, such as the option to choose your type of Dozer at the onset, the importance of collecting resources, research upgrade choices for better performance, the four classes (frontliner, deadeye, gunslinger and trencher) and more.
