Might & Magic X: Legacy Karthal – Screenshots and Art

Limbic Entertainment has issued a few new images depicting Karthal, a major port that can be found near the great Elven Forests in Ubisoft’s upcoming RPG Might & Magic X: Legacy in the second half of the game. The screenshots are all work-in-progress, so you can be sure that the final product may look more detailed and polished; the mood painting of the city is by Liquid Development, and it serves to bring out the mixed architectural style, as it appears to be influenced by medieval Italy and the Mediterranean.

The developers referred to real-world locations such as the city of Seville in Spain, the town of Assisi in Italy and the Palais des Papes/Papal palace in Avignon (France) while creating Karthal. The port consists of two large areas – the harbour, where large markets and mansions belonging to affluent merchants, diplomats and wizards are situated; the Upper District houses the palace (Vigil) and the City Council; the slums under the city’s aqueduct are where the not so rich and unfortunate dwell. The notorious Blackfang runs a black market in the shantytown, where many shady mercenary companies also render their services.
