0Lionhead reveals Fable Legends as free to play in video
Some great news for those looking forward to Fable Legends; Lionhead has confirmed that the co-op focused action RPG will be free-to-play for Windows 10 PC and Xbox One (Xbox Live Gold). The entire campaign and included quests will be free, and anything that impacts gameplay can be unlocked or acquired just by playing the game.
At the same time, gamers can also use real-world money to purchase ingame gold, that can in turn be spent on items that can alternatively be procured by spending silver; the latter is earned through the course of the game, whether you play as one of the heroes or as the villain. While several heroes are planned, four of these will be free, though said four characters will be rotated so that one can play as all of them without having to spend money; progress made with a particular character is saved, and if you prefer one hero, you can unlock him or her with silver acquired ingame or gold purchased with real-world currency.
While the game boasts of hero customisation, such as outfits and face variations, the developers have revealed that some outfits will only be purchasable with gold. Villains can also purchase new creatures and traps/tools (magical healing stones, explosive mines etc) using silver or gold. Additionally, players can expect expansions to the game down the line, which means there will be fresh content post-release as well.
