Hellraid concept art depicts a surreal, twisted Hell

Techland has issued a singular image for Hellraid, the first-person co-op hack’n’slash action game which pits players against monstrous forces in settings ranging from monastery to catacombs and swamps. The image above is a piece of concept art depicting the Polish developers version of Hell in the game; Techland has said that they are striving for the location to be surreal, somewhat similar to this plane but clearly twisted by evil – players can expect never-extinguishing fires, piles of corpses, deadly traps, horrifying moans of the damned and of course, demons.

We also have a short new trailer for the game below. This video comes just ahead of E3, and gives us a glimpse into the morbid world of Hellraid, and its deceased/demonic inhabitants; one also gets to see a bit of the melee and magic combat in play, with the former looking very satisfying and visceral with axes and swords decapitating enemies.
