Giant mechs emerge in the Teaser Trailer for Xbox 360-exclusive Pacific Rim The Video Game

Yuke’s hve issued the following trailer teasing the videogame version of Guillermo Del Toro’s scifi action movie Pacific Rim, in which giant robots called Jaeger attempt to defend the earth and destroy invading sea monsters (Kaiju). The digital download-only title arrives exclusively on the Xbox 360 on 12 July via Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points.

The in-engine clip only showcases different types of robots, though the enemy remains suspiciously absent. Past experiences have taught me not to hold out much hope for videogames adapted from movies and vice versa, so we shall reserve judgement until we get to see some actual gameplay footage. One hopes that the developers have sought to recreate the large-scale battles in the movie, though I guess we shall just have to wait and see.
