Geralt, Royal Wyvern battle it out in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gameplay video

A seven-minute long video has been released for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, showcasing one of the numerous side quests that can be tackled in CD Projekt Red’s open-world action RPG.

Narrated by Senior Level Designer Peter Gelencser, the clip starts with a random encounter in the game world wherein the protagonist quickly despatches a couple of wolves by casting magic which slows down time/enemy movement within a circle and then finishing them off with this sword. Moving on to a village he acquires a quest wherein he must investigate the whereabouts of a missing caravan accompanied by villagers, which leads him to a cave wherein two survivors reveal that the rest of the band was slaughtered by a monster.

This leads to a short but decisive battle with a Royal Wyvern, for which the White Wolf prepares beforehand by applying oil to one of his swords for bonus damage against the beast, and then employs Igni/fire and melee attacks to deadly effect for the beast, netting him more renown as the two villagers live to spread the tale of the legendary monster hunter.
