First Concept Artworks of open-world Survival Action RPG ReRoll [Updated with Trailer]

Newly minted studio Pixyul has unveiled several pieces of concept artwork for its debut title, an open-world survival action RPG called ReRoll for the PC. The game takes place on recreated Earth in a contemporary setting, wherein characters need to eat, rest, engage in combat, develop and upgrade skills and even exercise to subsist. Since a player’s character is always active, one can even manage them via mobiles to ensure their character grows as they want them to.

Furthermore, the game features 24-hour day & night cycles wherein the Reality System Sync (RSS) ensures that real-life weather systems are connected to the game universe, so if your character is in a part of the US where it actually is snowing, expect similar weather in the game as well. Another intriguing aspect of the title is that the Montreal-based studio, which include former Ubisoft developers Julien Cuny and Louis-Pierre Pharand, utilises small civilian UAV’s such as eBee by senseFly which are equipped with small digital HD cameras so as to  map the entire planet and allow for their being rendered and recreated in level design.

The game – which features both singleplayer and online co-op – will therefore continue to expand from its initial size, gradually incorporating additional features and real world regions. ReRoll is based on a crowdfunding campaign in which gamers can purchase various sorts of game packages according to their preference; if any of this sounds interesting, take out a little time and check out their website here to see how you can aid in its development/release. [Update: Added the announcement trailer, which contains a bit of prototype work-in-progress footage, and its looking good. Excellent weather effects, vehicles such as snowmobiles to traverse the terrain and an arsenal including both melee and firearms]
