Techland has finally revealed the final global launch dates for their parkour-based first-person action survival horror game set in a zombie apocalypse scenario; the developers have also issued a video showing off the four-player co-op that Dying Light features.
First off, the PC will see a worldwide digital release on 27 January, while the Xbox One and PS4 digital and retail versions will be available on the same day in North and South America. Meanwhile, the game will launch in Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East, Asia digitally on 28 January while the retail/physical copy for the aforementioned consoles will arrive on 27 February.
Additionally, the Ultimate Survivor Bundle and the “Cuisine & Cargo” DLC packs will be available free for all who pre-ordered a physical copy of Dying Light, and best of all, the “Be the Zombie” multiplayer mode which allows for players to invade other players games as a Night Hunter will also be free for all platforms!
Now moving onto the co-op aspect, which is seamless drop-in/drop-out for up to 4 players, and allows one to tackle quests and complete special co-op challenges together, due to the campaign and multiplayer integration. In the following clip, game designer Maciej Binkowski, brand manager Paweł Modliński, assistant producer Marcel Mitraszewski and producer Tymon Smektała tackle the mode together, providing for a very entertaining -op session, in which the four take on a timed challenge to see who can kill the most zombies, pick a “very hard” lock to get at some loot and lay a round of friendly football.
