Bound by Flame PS4 reveal trailer provides game overview
Spiders Studio issued a new trailer for Bound by Flame to mark its multiplatform status; the action RPG is set to arrive in Q2 this year on the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4. The video does a good job of explaining the premise of the game, which us set in a dark fantasy universe where the protagonist Vulcan (whose attributes, appearance, sex etc is completely customisable) stands against an evil army of undead. Possessed by an evil fire demon, one can choose to adhere to its intentions and accept the power it provides or rejects its grasp and try to strive for more human (yet also powerful) skills.
The game allows for crafting various armour and weapons, and even varied gameplay styles according to one’s preference – be sneaky and set traps for your unaware opponents or rush headfirst into battle. The clip also shows off some of the numerous distinctive enemies players will face in the game, including some very large ones that are likely to be tough to deal with. Breaking attacks is an important element in melee combat, as you as well as your enemy can break through an attack if the amount of force is more than breaking resistance.
While weapons such as hammers are well and good to crush the skulls of those who stand in your path, they are cumbersome and slow, and therefore some may prefer the speedy fluid movement as well as high damage per second that dual wielding daggers can provide. Of course, you can always set fire to your weapons (which also include swords, crossbows and axes) to inflict more damage (reminds me of the Witcher). There are also numerous skills to acquire from paths such as Fighter, Ranger and Pyromancer, as well as the ability to switch between combat styles according to the enemy you battle.
