0Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel gets 15-Minute gameplay walkthrough
Here’s a new video for those looking forward to some gameplay footage from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the next title in the hit FPS series from Gearbox and 2K. The 15-minute long clip starts off with a look at the skill tree of the Gladiator class-Athena, and we subsequently see the player acquiring a cryo gun which can freeze enemies and then shatter them (Frosty SMG), a Maliwan beam laser-type weapon and an OZ kit (which includes Oxygen essential for survival as well as some bonuses) from the new loot chest. Check out the video, which features commentary by Gearbox producer James Lopez and 2K Australia producer Joel Eschler as they showcase the game set on Elpis, Pandor’s moon.
We learn that while Oxygen will deplete steadily while out on the moon’s surface, there will be various sources, such as air pockets, to replenish amounts of the element. They demonstrate related gameplay elements like Boost and Slam, with the former expending oxygen to function; starting up an oxygen generator also provides a small dome which generates oxygen. One of Athena’s active skill is shown, wherein the Aspis absorbs a certain amount of damage and then can be thrown towards an enemy to put the hurt on them. There’s also the ulitmate skill Wrath of the Goddess, which allows the Aspis to ricochet off upto four additional enemies dealing diminishing amounts of damage and then return to the player. We also get to see the Stingray, a new vehicle in the game, though the player proceeds on foot, and Claptrap in action against a Badass Outlaw!
