0Bloodborne screenshots accompany multiplayer info dump
A bunch of new screenshots have been posted for Bloodborne, to accompany the massive amount of information revealed detailing the multiplayer aspects of From Software’s PS4-exclusive title.
The action-RPG will feature vast ancient multi-level underground ruins called the the Chalice Dungeon, which can be accessed by utilizing a holy chalice, though its structure will change every time you enter it, which should keep playthroughs interesting and diverse. Apart from dangerous creatures such as the inhuman Protectors, the ritual masters and the gigantic guard dog (which is covered in flames), there are numerous traps to contend with, as unsuspecting adventurers may meet their grisly end die to guillotine blades that seem to appear from nowhere.
The dungeon boasts of different environments, ranging from swamps to grand halls to rocky corridors, though one must go online to generate new dungeons; one can download dungeons created by other players and upload those generate by you. The co-op aspect allows for upto three hunters to ally together and face challenges and deadly enemies; successfully defeating a boss nets those how joined the game a bonus reward, while death will send them back yto their own game.
There’s also Versus PvP if you want to challenge other humans instead of AI opponents, which means that upto two players can invade a player’s game; success grants the invaders a reward. One can also leave hints and messages (which can be helpful or misleading) for other players to discover via Messenger creatures; upon one’s untimely demise, a tombstone will appear that other players can interact with to view their final moments and perhaps realise what triggered the death. An online update, containing optimisation and performance improvements, to the game will be made available on launch day (24 March).
PS4 owners who get the game will need PlayStation Plus to access Online Multiplayer, Asynchronous Online Features and to share Generated Chalice Dungeons.
