BioWare cancels PC-exclusive RPG Shadow Realms

We have some bad news to start off the day, with BioWare revealing that it has cancelled the PC-exclusive RPG Shadow Realms.

A post by BioWare Austin general manager Jeff Hickman says that the team has decided not to move forward with the episodic multiplayer-oriented 4v1 game, which pitted four heroes with abilities against a player-controlled Shadowlord. The focus of the studio is right now Star Wars: The Old Republic and expanding its content, more enhancements to Dragon Age: Inquisition, the next Mass Effect game and other new projects.

The announcement is certainly disappointing for PC gamers, who were looking forward to this offering from BioWare that was based on classic Pen and Paper RPGs. We can but hope that this translates into a much more superior effort by the studio in upcoming titles like the next game set in the Mass Effect universe.
