0Battlefield: Hardline delayed into 2015
Looks like today is the day for game delays; after BioWare’s announcement that the next instalment in the Dragon Age series was being postponed, EA and Visceral Games’ multiplayer-focused FPS seems to be on the same track, as they have revealed that Battlefield: Hardline has been deferred until 2015.
Now this may attract a bit of flak from gamers looking forward to some holiday time with the shooter, but we think it’s a good thing. The developers have said that the delay comes in the aftermath of player feedback received in the Beta, with the additional time to be utilised to incorporate “ideas direct from the community” into the multiplayer part of the game, polishing up the singleplayer aspect of the title, and optimise the game for a more stable launch.
The last bit is especially worth nothing, given the significant amount of criticism aimed at the previous title in the series considering the state it launched in, with many gamers claiming it was as functional and buggy as a Beta. I’d rather have one Battlefield game in two years which runs well than one each year equivalent to an unstable and buggy mess, and I am sure most of you agree.
