Battlefield 4 multiplayer detailed; to contain seven modes and ten maps at launch

EA and DICE have elaborated on the various multiplayer modes players can expect to immerse themselves in once Battlefield 4 launches on launches on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on 29 October in North America and 01 November in Europe; the next gen versions will arrive a bit later. At the time of launch, the FPS will contain seven modes – detailed below- set across ten maps promising varied gameplay.

First off is the popular Conquest mode, which will also be available in the upcoming Beta. As in the previous games in the series, you can expect infantry and vehicle warfare, with the latter including sea vehicles as well. Upto 24 players can engage in battle in current-gen console version, while the PC and next-gen versions allows for 64 players. And there’s also the optional Commander mode to add to the fun.

Next is the 20-player only Domination mode which will also be in the Beta; this focuses on fast-paced high-tension infantry-oriented gameplay.

Then there is the 24-player limited Obliteration, which also has the optional Commander mode. Said to be inspired by American football, this involves opposing teams fighting to capture a random-location spawned bomb, arm the device and detonate it at the one of the rival team’s three objectives.

Fourth is the 5v5 player mode Defused, which spawns you with a single life per round – though each player can be revived once per round – making for some tense moments and extremely competitive gameplay. A team can win by eliminating their opponents or detonating a military objective belonging to the latter.

No multiplayer game is complete without the inclusion of the classic Team Deathmatch, and Battlefield 4 delivers with 20-player limited rounds.

There’s also the 16-player based Squad Deathmatch from the previous game in the series, with four teams battling to make it to the top; this time, there’s the addition of Commander mode to spice things up a bit.

Finally, Rush is a mode allowing for 24 players in current-gen consoles and 32 players on the PC and next-gen versions with an optional Commander mode, involving one team attempting to defend two MCOM stations in each zone of the map, whiel the attackers have to arm and destroy the same. The match concludes when the assailants have destroyed all six MCOMs, or when their respawn tickets have run out.
