0Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Locations and Activities 10-minute Commented Gameplay Walkthrough
Ubisoft has dropped this new 10-minute long video for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag focusing on the various open-world activities players can undertake in the vast universe of this action-adventure epic revolving around privateer Edward Kenway and his life on the open seas. Considering the game contains more than 50 major locations and around 75 other uncharted islands, one can expect to sink lots of hours exploring the Caribbean. We get to see bits of gameplay ranging from diving underwater to search for hidden treasure, exploring smugglers caves and looting their dens, harpooning the deadly sharks and other creatures of the sea, to repelling and paying back pirate attacks on your vessel – the Jackdaw.
The clip starts off with the hero brawling with a group of bandits to gain access to a makeshift tavern on a pirate island, and then navigating to the local viewpoint to get an idea of nearby collectibles and other points of interest. We subsequently move to an underwater shipwreck made accessible by a diving bell, wherein the protagonist has to hide among seaweed to prevent being devoured by various underwater creatures. After looting a couple of chests, its onto a smugglers den where stealth is key to ambushing the enemy and securing valuable resources.
However, all that booty means that the Jackdaw is a lucrative target for pirate hunters (ranging from level 1 to 4 depending on your notoriety); a short skirmish later Kenway boards and captures one such ship, and subsequently uses this opportunity to lower his wanted level. The player also engages in harpooning a bull shark to secure valuable upgrades, other such targets will include blue whales and great white sharks.
