Arr matey! Here be a treasure chest of Assassin’s Creed IV concept art and screenshots
Granted it’s a slow weekend but that doesn’t mean that you, fellow gamer, be saddened by the lack of gaming news. We have an assortment of images – concept art, character renders and screenshots – from Ubisoft’s pirate assassin themed open-word third-person action-adventure Assassin’s Creed IV: Back Flag. If you want to see the title in motion, you can always check out the gameplay début trailer over here.
Back Flag takes place before the events of Assassin’s Creed III, and features Edward Kenway as the protagonist; if that name feels familiar to fans of the series, it is because Edward is the father of Haytham Kenway and therefore the grandfather of Connor – the two characters you play as in Assassin’s Creed III. The character renders are a reminder that we can expect dual-wielding (both swords and pistols), and that the infamous pirate Blackbeard will also be making an appearance.
The concept art and screens indicate a diverse range of locations to reconnoitre and sights to see, ranging from jungles, forts, and villages to naval battles, underwater exploration and possibly whaling as well. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag arrives on 29 October in North America and on 1 November across Europe on the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PS4.
